Over the past month, I’ve had several brain injury and chronic memory or dementia patients in my office! I’ve made quite a few person-centered cognitive supports in the form of signs or labels. Today I’m sharing a Text Size and Type Trial sheet I made for use in therapy to quickly see if a certain font type or font size works best for someone.

Depending on visual and cognitive status, one person may have different needs from another. I use this with the treated person to decide what size and type of font they prefer for the goal we are addressing.

Any time you are creating written information for the person you are working with, use this to decide together what text type and size will work best for the person and the job. Here are some examples:
