As an outpatient SLP it provides me a great, flexible outline to conduct my person-centered assessment in a way that is thorough yet efficient. Her checklist of prompts/potential observations helps me obtain understanding of strengths and challenges in a patient’s daily life, work-life, student-life. It also helps me generate other ideas as well. I found the assessment flow to be helpful in keeping me organized and on track during an assessment and I like that she provides specific dialogue I can use or tweak to make sure I am person-centered the moment I greet the patient I am assessing. I can see this resource following me to any setting I work in whether it’s outpatient, acute, inpatient rehab, etc.
